Bio
I believe that therapy is a creative opportunity to learn about ourselves. It is a safe space where we can write and rewrite the narratives of our lives. As a queer Mexican woman, I strive to cultivate a practice that is rooted in empathy, empowerment, and inclusivity. I am privileged to facilitate an environment where my clients can engage in self-discovery, healing, and make changes towards living a meaningful life.

I hold a Ph.D. and M.A. in Clinical and Counselling Psychology from OISE/University of Toronto, with a Collaborative Specialization in Addiction Studies (CoPAS). My doctoral research focused on the impact of microaggressions on the mental health of racialized LGBTQ+ individuals and how being connected to community can help build resiliency. Before moving to Toronto for graduate school, I completed my B.A. in Psychology at the University of British Columbia.
I have worked in a diverse range of settings, including correctional facilities, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric hospitals, and private practices. I completed my pre-doctoral clinical internship at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) within the Youth Concurrent Disorders service, Women’s Inpatient Unit, and Forensic Services. I am also a Sessional Instructor in the Counselling Psychology program at OISE/University of Toronto.
